24 August
left sagaras house at 16.00
location closes at 16.30
our plans are a complete disaster but we managed and filmed our intro in the street and then went home

today i filmed several locations for our intro using my phone. i chose to use my phone instead of my camera because it has a stablizer which makes it seem more cinematic and of better quality, less shakey. we are forced to reschedule our shoot because we were 2 hours behind schedule. we are also thinking of picking a different location as an alternative as the entrance fee was quite pricey, with a total of 1.2 mill for the 4 of us. Although today wasnt as productive as we had hoped, we still made something out of today, caught a great view if the sunset for our intro and we went over some of our song choices for the intro.

i need to:
record the canera shot sound for the video.

sunday 1 sep, we were supposed to shoot but half our members cannoy make it so we delayed it till thursday.
we changed the location to legian beach because its free and has a wider time range

thursday 5 september. change of locqtion again to sanur beach and  gusdes house. we decided to shoot at legian
so far:
weve filmed the beginning at gusdes house, the cafe.
we filmed with my camera from the outside and used bams' phone for the audio. we made sure to have someone to be the clapper so that sorting the audio with the clip is easier.
we filmed the walk at the beach, going in and out of the mall, a traditional dance in the mall, and cafe scene.

a lot of things go against our plans however we made it work and did great also with the help of our other friend.we had to work with what we have. we planned our intro and our ending however we only stuck with our ending and did not include our intro. it turned out great though

Statement of Intent

 Here is my project research

Tourism Ad

 Primary Target Audience

Demographic

teenagers to young adults (15-20) who are energetic and outgoing, looking for fun outdoors activity such as exploring, camping, trekking, hiking and more.

Reason

Because Bali offers those activities the best, meaning by choosing those target audience there is a much higher chance of success in attracting potential tourists

Psychographic

Food lovers

Explorers

hikers

Surfers

Photographer

Journalist

Reason

Bali offers a wide range of these things which would make it easier to attract people who are interested in the things Bali has to offer

 Secondary  Target Audience

Adults who are 20-30 that wants to be outdoors

Reason

They may want a vacation at a relaxing place. Bali also offers relaxing beaches with beach clubs and fancy hotels which can cater to their wants and needs.

Content Overview

What will happen in your trailer (basic idea)

A group of teenage explorers go out to natural places such as beaches or rural areas and film or photograph the view. they explore

Unique Selling Point

There will mostly be POV camera shots as it will be purposely low quality for the vintage effect. Destinations will consists of mostly outdoors activities such as caves, beaches or waterfalls.

Representations

People: Who will you show? How will they be shown?

  • The ad will be some sort of journal videoing of a group of teenagers on a road trip, the theme will be vintage

Places: (Beach, forest, city places, restaurants)

  • sanur beach
  • tegenungan waterfall
  • kuta beach
  • canggu
  • bali sea fishing (sanur)

Dominant Reading (Your message)

idk

I did the statement of intent, i had big hopes on the location however to my disappointment we had to reschedule and change the location.

Research

Here is my research for 2 ads that are aimed at my target audience

This ad focuses on adventurous people who enjoy roadtrips or outdoors natural activities. It targets single people with hiking, trekking, and camping activities, encouraging the audience to visit. This subverts to stereotypical beliefs that men are usually more adventurous as it only shows a single woman there.

This ad is based solely on varieties of food the location has to offer. It shows appetizing food and the process of cooking to increase the appetite of audience and attract their target market. It conforms to many stereotypical ads that display delicious food to attract food lovers into visiting the location.

Extreme long shot- to give the audience a clear image of a beautiful view as the opening

POV shot of the girl that was taken right before the scene where the camera enters the drawing book to show as if the picture had come to life. This camera angle makes the audience feel more involved/immersed into the ad whilst keeping their attention on the drawing. This scene is aimed to look adventurous or curious and fit for exploration.
Medium-close shot to make the reader focused on the specific scene of holding hands. They are used to portray the atmosphere of romance, including audiences that are couples which encourages them to visit the destination. The romantic atmosphere makes the audience feel calm and relaxed due to the dim lights

over the shoulder pov to show audience that they are having a conversation. Everything else other than the woman in the picture is blurred so that the audience only focuses on her and nothing else.

i did research on several tourism ads to get used to and know more about filming features. these knowledge will be used for our project as well as future projects
