Editing

This is our editing process of our media project.

first i aligned the clips together and picked out the song

i went with Can I call you rose by thee sacred souls. I aligned the texts so that it appears on beat with the intro of the music, its called cut to the beat.

for the coloring of the clips, i added a combination of filters and adjusted the brightness, exposure, highlights, temperatures. for around half an hour, i researched in tiktok to find inspiration for color grading to get the atmosphere that i am aiming for. I took inspiration from a video in tiktok.

For the song, we chose this song because of the vibe and atmosphere it gives which is calm relaxed and vintage. Because our theme is retro and wintage, we figured that the song specifically would help in getting us be closer to our wanted atmosphere.

for the last section of the audio, i wanted to make it muffled. However, it requires capcut pro which i do not want to buy, so i screen recorded the audio, then replaced the original audio with the screen recorded one.

for the font i had to experiment with different fonts and i decided to use the first one as it gives off more of a retro old tv vibe. The decision to put end credits is my idea. although most ads do not have end credits, i want our project to stand out and look further more like a film.

Mr nick gave us feedback and criticism about how some things in our ad doesnt ad up. so we took his advice and changed the intro as well as the ending. although i did like the sunset clip of the intro, i took it down and replaced it with the black screen. i changed the text to match mr nicks advice and for the ending i removed the credits.

although the editing was supposed to be done by bams and alex, im quite proud of my editing product. by doing the editing myself, i can create my vision to come to life myself instead of depending on the others to do it for me. the others did help me make several editing decisions though such as which font to use, the clips as well as any other altercations being done towards the video. overall im grateful to have my team and even if it seems like im doing everything, i couldnt have done any of this without my teammates.
