Week 1

For week 1, we did preliminary research, talked about the different genre options and discussed which we would do. I was absent due to some exams so I had to ask my teammates in order to catch up with the topics and things that were discussed. My original groupmates were changed around and I ended up with different teammates and we ended up choosing rock/alt rock.

Week 2

This week we are continuing our project genre research. We helped each other improve our research and finished it to be due this thursday. I need  to be more specific with my answers, and im currently working on my research design to make it more appealing and easier to read, as well as doing more research to make my research more detailed, organized, and varied.

Week 3

This week, we finished our genre research and learned more theories and concepts. We talked about audience values and how it has changed overtime, specifically about race, and media representations. We also finished up whatever assignments that we haven't done or completed.

Week 4

This week we revised about feminism theory by judith butler, laura mulvey and van zoonen. We talked about how audience values change overtime, and read articles about the male gaze. We were given homework to read the article and analyse parts of the articles that supports or challenges our beliefs or opinions. From this task, I've learned the many different opinions that people can have, and how the media can create echo chambers which supports existing beliefs or opinions without challenging, which can divide societies and cause culture clash.

Week 5

This week we started preparing for our other research and planning such as mood board, location scout, and storyboard as well as the lyrics. I had TKA test which made me miss a few lessons so I'd have to catch up on some of the work. We've learned some new theories such as 'medium is the message' and global village- which i missed out on so for the test, i had to learn the theory myself and understand it well enough to be able to implement my theory on my test. I think i did quite well on my test, however I analyzed some mistakes or lack of information that could've been given, noticed a pattern and have planned to improve my writing and structure for my next test; the semestral exam. We also learnt about persona which would be implanted on our assignment including our music video project.

Week 6

This week, we continued with our planning. By the end of this week, we have to submit all our planning including our moodboard, weekly progress, script and storyboard, location scout and risk assessment, our classwork and our persona classwork. I've done my persona classwork on Gary Moore, a rock guitar player known for his solos. This classwork has given me a good image as to what persona is, how it works, and its importance-which i assume would be important to understand if i were to create a persona for my star. My teammate has done our moodboard, me and my teammates are currently doing our location scout and I am currently finishing our storyboard.
